KWO incense smokers, smokermen and Erzgebirge nutcrackers from Olbernhau
The complete name of KWO is „KWO - Kunstgewerbe Werkstätten Olbernhau GmbH”. The roots go back to a several small workshops that decided to merge. The company is located in Olbernhau (Erzgebirge, close to the Christmas city of Seiffen) which is next to the border to the Czech Republic.
KWO has grown to one of the largest manufacturers of traditional German handcrafts. There are more than 140 skilled employees that guarantee KWO products are always made with the same carefulness. KWO products belong to most wanted items from the German Erzgebirge.
Besides the famous German incense smokers KWO makes wonderful Christmas pyramids, traditional nutcrackers and beautiful music boxes. Most wanted are the edge stool smokers that can sit anywhere in the house. KWO enthusiasts can also join the KWO Smokers Collectors Club.
KWO is also one of the most innovative Erzgebirge workshops. In 2006 KWO designed the Mozart Orchestra that is on most exclusive items from the Erzgebirge. In 2007 KWO designed a very exclusive desk set and an Ayurveda Design Globe series that combines Erzgebirge craftsmanship with century old Indian health knowledge.
