Erzgebirge Seiffener Volkskunst from Seiffen
Seiffener Volkskunst was founded by several Seiffen craftsmen in 1958. For almost 50 years the company has been making high quality German Erzgebirge items. All Seiffener Volkskunst smokers & nutcrackers have a very traditional and classic design and are also made in a very traditional way. The nutcrackers are as close as it gets to the early Erzgebirge models from the 19th century and the father of all nutcrackers made by Füchtner.
The work procedures are still very close to the early techniques from the German Erzgebirge. Like that Seiffener Volkskunst wants to ensure that the quality of the products and the traditions are cultivated.
All Seiffener Volkskunst craftsmen are highly skilled. Besides incense smoker (burners) and nutcrackers Seiffener Volkskunst has also a range of carved animals. Seiffener Volkskunst has won quite a few Erzgebirge design awards.
The company workshops are open to public. Visitors gain good insight on the woodcarving, ring turning and wood turning.
